REPRODUCTIVE PRODUCTS
2024
This photographic series uses photograms to capture menstrual and reproductive products in my personal stockpile. Women make up over half of the population in the United States, yet it’s a common belief that we must hide and keep quiet about what goes on with our bodies, which in return influences how we talk about reproductive and medical concerns. From terribly long names, types, package designs, costs, and accessibility, I document the different stages of handling each product. As someone who grew up uncomfortable and scared to talk about normal bodily functions and experiences like periods and sex, I see a need for this topic to be addressed in society, and because of that I make images to provoke this conversation.
